About 4th Gear Consulting

Our Mission

Our mission is to help leaders, organizations and individuals turn their potential into results.

We help organizations build solid, consistent, ethical leadership and a culture that engages employees and brings out the best in each of them.  We partner with companies to create teams of people that are committed to getting the job done while keeping the customers’ best interests at the heart of their work. Leaders and organizations that think and work this way build a strong economy, a strong country and a strong community.  That’s why we work to help the people and organizations we partner with achieve everything they are capable of and more than they thought they could.

Why the Name 4th Gear?

Knowledge, skill and experience determine the potential of people and organizations.  They are the first three gears.  But potential turns into results only when it’s driven by commitment.  Commitment is the 4th Gear.  Fully engage the 4th Gear and you shift from where you are, today to where you could be.  Recent Gallup research shows that most companies are getting less than 40% of what they could achieve if their leaders and people were fully engaged.  That’s like owning a Ferrari and only driving it in first gear.  Your organization very likely has all the skills, knowledge and experience it needs for tremendous success.  Now it’s time to gain the full commitment of your people and transform that potential into results.

How do You Help Organizations Build Commitment?

Three things drive people to fully commit to the success of an organization.  The culture that they work in, the quality of the coaching they receive and their personal connection to their work and the company’s mission.  Through coaching, consulting and group learning, we help businesses shift their culture, develop stronger leaders, and create greater connection to their people.  Any of these things will improve commitment.  All three done together will change the organization’s future.
